From June until September, UNITED is coordinating the #LifeSeekers campaign. #LifeSeekers is a campaign for a new approach to problems facing young people in Europe today. We want policy-makers to take positive action to solve these problems and to stop blaming migrants and refugees. Whether or not we are asylum-seekers, we are all Life Seekers, who want the freedom and power to shape our own futures.
Joining the campaign is easy! Just fill in the short form at the bottom of the page at www.lifeseekers.org.
Once you have joined the campaign on the #LifeSeekers website, there are several ways that you can help to promote the campaign:
* Promote the campaign on social media
The campaign has been designed to be easily “shareable” on social media. You can share the campaign by sharing the campaign posts from the UNITED Facebook page, or retweeting campaign tweets from the UNITED Twitter feed. If you prefer, you can also make your own Facebook posts, tweets and other social media content using the social media pack, which you can download from this link (.zip file).
* Join and share the Thunderclap campaign
We are running a Thunderclap campaign to promote the campaign. Through the Thunderclap app, a joint message will be sent on social media to mark International Youth Day on 12 August. Please join the Thunderclap at this link, and share with your friends, colleagues and your organisation’s social media followers. If you want to know more about how the Thunderclap works, you can read our introduction to it here.
* Join and share the campaign Facebook event
We have also set up a Facebook event to promote the campaign. You can join the event at this link. Please join the event and invite your Facebook friends to join and find out more about the campaign!
* Join the campaign with your organisation
If you represent a civil society organisation/NGO, you can join the campaign with your organisation by filling in the form at this link. When your organisation joins the campaign, we will add you to the list of supporters (over 140 have already joined!) and your organisation will also be promoted to all the people from your country that join the campaign.
* Promote the campaign at your events
In case you are organising or participating in any activities or events this summer (festivals, marches, meetings etc.), we have made a simple flier that you can print and use to promote the campaign and collect supporters. You can download it here [.pdf].
