Citizenship Education Workshop in Budapest, September 18-20th, 2017

Call for Participants

The Citizenship Education Working Group of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum is pleased to announce a call for participants for a workshop focusing on Citizenship Education to be held in Budapest, on September 18-20th, 2017.
The Citizenship Education Workshop in Budapest will help to strengthen the CSF Citizenship Education Working Group and broaden its networking opportunities (among member and non-member organizations). The 3-day workshop for 20 participants will be an opportunity for WG members to learn about the experience of Hungarian organizations operating in the field of citizenship education as well as to share experience among workshop participants. Part of the program will be devoted to planning further activities of the Working group, which will help to enhance its activities in the future.
Eligible candidates:
Representatives of NGOs from Europe and Russia, working in the sphere of citizenship education in their respective countries and interested in developing cooperation between EU and Russian civil societies;
Both members and non-members of the Forum;
English and/or Russian-speaking.

The program will cover the costs of participation for representatives of NGOs – members of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum (10 from Russia and 10 from the EU). Priority will be given to members of Citizenship Education Working Group of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum.

The program will include:
Discussion on current challenges in the area of citizenship education;
Sharing experience and best practices of participants;
Discussion of areas of cooperation between EU and Russian participants;
Site visits to Hungarian organizations;
Workshop on Citizenship Education.

Working languages of the workshop: English and Russian. Interpretation will be provided.

The organisers will cover the costs of accommodation to all participants and provide a travel contribution (in the amount of app. 50-70% of travel costs, depending on the price of the ticket and available budget; estimated contribution is 100-200 EUR for Russian participants and 30-100 EUR for participants from the EU). Breakfasts and lunches will be provided by the organizer. Participants are expected to cover the costs of other meals during the seminar.
