UNITED Conference near Berlin, 19-24 November 2017

What support can we offer for victims of hate violence and their communities? How can we incorporate victims’ perspectives into NGO activities? What are the needs of different victim groups? These are the questions that will be discussed at the conference “Make Every Voice Heard! The Power Of Victim Perspectives In Fighting Hate Crime”.
From 19-24 November, around 80 NGO representatives from all over Europe are meeting at a venue near Berlin, DE to discuss and share tools and practices used in victim support activities. Organised by UNITED for Intercultural Action, a European network of antiracist NGOs, the conference will provide a platform for activists to discuss the issues, develop new strategies and projects, and network with other like-minded activists from all over the continent.
“Those who suffer most remain invisible in the debates about how to tackle hate speech, discrimination and hate crimes. At the UNITED-Conference we will try to focus on victims´ perspectives and the question of how to fight these problems with a victim-centred approach. I am curious to discuss, learn and understand with and from partners, friends and allies at this important transnational and inter-sectional event. Only united we can step forward” said Stephan Kees, IPG coordinator of the conference.
