A long-time partner of UNITED and friend in combating hate, xenophobia and intolerance, the FARE Network is encouraging civil society to apply for small grants to participate in Football People weeks.
The #FootballPeople programme of FARE offers small grants to support hundreds of projects across Europe in and around Europe’s largest series of social interventions in sport. Grants of up to €500 are now available for organisations to apply and organise activities during the period at local or regional level that promote diversity and social inclusion. The grant aims to fund activities and events at local and regional level that tackle discrimination, promote social inclusion and use football to bring people of different communities together.
Activities should meet one or more of these objectives:
- Fight discrimination in football
- Celebrate diversity in football
- Improve the representation of minorities and women in football
- Develop ideas and new practices that challenge exclusion
- Use football as a tool for empowerment, social inclusion and education
In 2017, 2,300 activities were organised during the #FootballPeople weeks in 62 countries. A total of 114,000 people took part in the campaign and this year you can be one of them.
The 2018 #FootballPeople action weeks will take place between 11-25 October.
Application deadline: 31 July 2018
