Survey of youth NGOs and networks in Europe

What is the survey about?

The survey is being carried out by Ecorys, an independent research organisation, on behalf of the European Commission. It forms part of a Study on the Landscape of youth representation in the EU (EAC/17/2019). The aims are as follows:

1. to map EU youth NGOs and networks, and to identify any gaps in representation

2. to assess the contribution of EU funding to youth organisations and networks

3. to identify the new trends in youth participation, and how their potential could be better tapped under the EU Youth Strategy; and

4. to make future funding recommendations to the European Commission.

The study is due to complete in October 2019. The findings will be published in a final report, to inform the ‘Engage’ strand of the EU Youth Strategy (2019-27).

Who is the survey for?

This survey is for youth NGOs and youth networks operating within the EU. This includes both formal youth structures and non-formal youth groups or movements.

We would like to hear from you if you represent a youth NGO or network operating Europe-wide, or at a national level, regional or local level. Your views are important, and we would encourage you to have your say.

When will the survey take place?

The survey launches on Monday 15th July 2019. It will stay open until Friday 16th August 2019, to reach as many EU youth NGOs and networks as possible.

How do I participate?

The best way to take part is by completing a short online registration form. You can do this by pasting the following link into your web browser:

bit.ly/eacyouthregistration

This will allow us to send a link to the most appropriate person in your organisation when the survey launches, to ensure that you don’t miss the opportunity.

An open survey link will also be shared after the 15th July. This will be publicised on the EU Youth Portal website, and via the European Commission’s social media channels, so that anyone who misses the registration is still able to take part.

What questions will I be asked?

The survey should take around 15-20 minutes to complete online.

It includes multi-choice questions, along with a smaller number of open questions for you to say what is the most important to you. The topics include:

a) background to your youth organisation or network
b) how youth representation is structured
c) use of outreach activities, and their effectiveness
d) your views on EU and transnational youth activities
e) your views on EU funding arrangements for youth
f) future priorities and recommendations for the European Commission

How will my information be used?

Taking part in the survey is voluntary, and your data is confidential.

All data processing relates exclusively to the study. Before we review the results, we will remove names and other information that might identify participants. The results will be shared through a final written report to the European Commission, which will be published an disseminated online, and through social media.

The survey is being carried out in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Ecorys is a registered data controller: UKICO, No.Z5564761.
