Shahab Saqib elected among the new board members at ENAR’s 25th Anniversary Assembly

Shahab Sabiq elected as ENAR board member

As announced in our June newsletter, among the many updates for this month we are very proud to announce that our Network is once again represented in ENAR board (European Network Against Racism) with Shahab Saqib, a UNITED expert and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) in the UK, as well as a Visiting Scholar of Law at the University of Toronto.

During the organisation’s annual General Assembly, held on June 17th under the name The Tipping Point, while commemorating a quarter of a century at the forefront of the battle against racism, the new board members vowed to enhance the Network’s mission for racism to become a relic of the past throughout Europe.

Marcell Lőrincz and Neringa Tumenaite were present as well, joining the discussions and sharing our network’s take on the current challenges for anti racist movements, stressing the need to invest more energy in involving extra European actors to our joint efforts, to be able to obtain long standing results.

Shahab has been elected together with the following board members:

  • Chair: Nyanchama Okemwa – Hand in Hand Against Racism, BE
  • 1st vice chair – Zlakha Ahmed Apna Haq, UK
  • 2nd vice chair – Anne Nolan, Waterford Integration Services, IE
  • Faith Mkwesha (Sahwira Africa International, FI),
  • Moussa Sangare (Ivorian Community in Greece, EL),
