
Position Title: Database & Network building Intern
Location: Remote or Hybrid (office located in Budapest)
Duration: [3-6 months]
Commitment: Part-time (Flexible, approx. [15-20] hours per week)
Internship Overview
As we plan to rebuild our International Network Database (that we call the Address Book) , we are looking for a dedicated Database & Network building Intern to assist in processing incoming information, validating data, reaching out to organizations, and supporting the development of both the online database and the physical (print) address book. The intern will work closely with the project coordinator (Balint Josa) and contribute to the accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of the new system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Database Management & Data Validation
- Review incoming organization sign-ups and verify their details.
- Cross-check submitted information for accuracy and legitimacy.
- Update and maintain the internal database with correct and up-to-date information.
- Organize data for integration into both the online directory and the printed address book.
2. Outreach & Follow-Up
- Contact organizations that have not responded via email and follow up with phone calls if necessary.
- Answer inquiries from organizations about the database and guide them through the sign-up process.
- Ensure organizations understand their options (public listing vs. private listing).
- Record and track responses systematically.
3.Support in Developing the Online & Physical Database
- Assist in structuring the online database for ease of use and accessibility.
- Help in designing the physical address book, ensuring it is well-organized and user-friendly. Graphic design is optional, but not a must, we have people for that.
- Provide input on categorization, search functions, and layout improvements.
4. Administrative & Coordination Support
- Work closely with the coordinator (Balint Josa) to ensure smooth execution of the project.
- Assist in preparing reports or summaries of progress and response rates.
- Contribute ideas to improve the process and efficiency of the database system.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Good communication abilities, including professional email and phone outreach.
- Experience with spreadsheets, data entry, and database management tools (or willingness to learn).
- Interest in human rights, antiracism, and international networking.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- English proficiency (other European languages are a plus!).
