It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we announce the tragic passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Vitali Safarov, from our partner organisation Center for Participation and Development and Tbilisi City Shelter, Georgia. As an active and valued member of the community, Vitali devoted his life fighting for the rights of the less fortunate.
He represented his organisation at multiple UNITED conferences, and was a member of the preparatory team for the next UNITED conference in spring 2019, contributing greatly with his knowledge, experience, enthusiasm and commitment to defending human rights and building inclusive communities. His legacy will be cherished by all UNITED friends who had the chance to meet him.
