The Return of The European Address Book Against Racism!

Dear Supporters of the UNITED Network!

Dear Friends!

We are revitalizing UNITED’s European Address Book Against Racism!

Since the last paperback publication of The Address Book more than a decade has passed, however, the time for a renewal has finally arrived.

In the face of everlarger hostility against our initiatives, our leadership views it as a crucial priority to reinstall a platform where our community can find the allies it needs.

In the past, The Address Book served as an outlet for networking, project partner recruitment, and even a quick guide for possible funding options, aside from also listing various regional, national and supranational anti-discrimination bodies and units.

We are therefore in the midst of a massive undertaking.

The last publication in 2014 featured over 2400 contact details of organisations, which were composed out of a data register that incorporated over 9000 contacts.

Since February our secretariat has been updating this 11 year old list with vigorous follow ups, digital verifications and manual checks.

We are happy to state that through this process we have been able to identify 4629 organisations which were verifiably active and operational.

So What Happens Now?

In order to publish the full account of our findings, we wish to ask for your consent to be listed within The Address Book.

We have created the following Registration Form where apart from mandatory fields(such as name of the organisation, general mail, and brief description, etc.) you can decide what information you choose to disclose to the public.

What will be the outcome of this effort?

Our attempt at revitalizing The Address Book, is fueled by the vigour to provide you with the most up to date listing of organisations that can be allies in your pursuits.

If our outreach is efficient enough we would be able to service the largest digitally browseable contact sheet of Civil Society Actors and state / supranational agencies in Europe.

In addition to this we are creating an interface from where you can conduct targeted research by:

  • Geographical Area (City, Region, Country, Continent),
  • Main Profile (Anti-racism, Roma Rights, Youth Empowerment, etc),
  • Form of Association (NGO, INGO, informal association, etc.)
  • Key words of our newly created Activity tags ( Education, Advocacy, etc.)
  • And an entirely voluntarily composed section on Collaborative Interest which describes what your organisation is interested in cooperating on (Think: EU Granting schemes, Future campaigning, Training sessions in your field of expertise, etc).

Last but not least at the same interface we would also feature similar but more niche initiatives of our partners and supra-national bodies. As such we would like to include a description and link to Migravoice’s contact list, for migrant led expertise, CoE’s civil society cluster listings, EU CSO browsers, etc.)

This way you would not only have access to UNITED’s register, but also a variety of other listings at the same space, which hopefully not only reduce your general searching time but also provide you with new compositions.

We therefore kindly ask you to complete your registration for the listing by the 10th of October, so we can publish our new service by the end of this year.

Please take into account that every single organisation we are contacting about The Address Book at this stage is one that we have identified through our research this year. We would be therefore truly honoured by your participation, so we can follow through on our goal, and provide you with the best service possible.
