Internships
Internship opportunity in Budapest Secretariat
The UNITED Secretariat is happy to offer 2 limited internship positions in its Budapest office on an ongoing basis (see responsibilities below).
Reminder: this is an unpaid internship! We cannot provide any allowance but we reimburse your monthly public transport pass if you’d move to Budapest.

Campaign and Communication Assistant
Location: Remote or Hybrid (office located in Budapest)
Duration: [minimum 3 months, preferably 6-12 months]
Commitment: Part-time (Flexible, approx. [15-20] hours per week)
Main responsibilities:
Our top priority is finding interns to primarily support the following tasks:
- Launching and managing UNITED’s Tiktok page;
- Launching and managing UNITED’s threads and bluesky page
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to:
- Assist in our campaign development process to design, implement, and assist UNITED campaigns (March 21st, June 20th, November 9th);
- Assist with a variety of social media activitie (posting on updates, promoting events, creating audiovisual material);
- Assist in creation of visual content and delivery.
- Covering UNITED events (Photography / Video).
- Contribute to UNITED’s E-News articles
Financial conditions: the internship is an unpaid position, however, there is a possibility to request contribution to food and local transport.
Part-time and full-time applications will be both considered.
Ideal Qualifications:
- A background in either: arts, content creation, marketing, or Journalism;
- Experience in running social media campaigns;
- A familiarity with Design tools: Canva, Adobe, Photoshop;
- Experience with audiovisual tools (camerawork, audio production, video editing);
- A background in public speaking;
- Strong language skills other than English (preferably German and/or French);
- Proven track record of anti-racist action / activism;
Requirements:
- C1 English skills;
- Familiarity with Social Media Platforms;
- Media Literacy;
- Matching at least 2 desired qualifications;
- Availability for at least 15 hours a week;
- Shameless Creativity.

- An article, a cover image (photograph or graphic design), a video, and an installation concept.

Network Correspondent
Location: Remote or Hybrid (office located in Budapest)
Duration: [minimum 3 months, preferably 6 months]
Commitment: Part-time (Flexible, approx. [15-20] hours per week)
Main responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of the European Address Book Against Racism;
- Follow up on Network Supporter Activity & Profiles;
- Develop applicable means of engagements for the Network Supporters (For example campaigns, working groups, project consortia, etc);
- Represent UNITED as a delegate at international conferences;
- Assist internal Network Administration and data categorisation;
- Follow ongoing European initiatives within the Civil Society Sector;
- Contribute to UNITED’s E-News articles.
Financial conditions: the internship is an unpaid position, however, there is a possibility to request contribution to food and local transport.
Part-time and full-time applications will be both considered.
Ideal Qualifications:
- An Academic background in either: Communications, International Relations, European Studies, or Policy;
- Prior knowledge of Intergovernmental and International Institutions (EU, CoE, UN);
- Previous experience in the sector (NGO communication, Network engagement);
- Strong language skills other than English (preferably German and/or French);
- Proven track record of anti-racist action / activism.
- Pre-existing knowledge on UNITED Supporters and UNITED’s Activities.
Requirements:
- C1 English skills;
- Media Literacy;
- Matching at least 2 desired qualifications;
- Availability for 20 hours a week;
- Ability to work independently.
