UNITED represented at the 5th coordination meeting of the No Hate Speech Movement

Balint Josa, Programme Coordinator of UNITED for Intercultural Action, represented the network at the fifth coordination meeting of the No Hate Speech Movement in June 2017 in Bucharest, Romania.

Between 28-30 June 2017, the Council of Europe organized the 5th and last annual coordination meeting of 70 activists, national coordinators, consultants and experts of the No Hate Speech Movement, in Bucharest, Romania. 70 activists and national campaign coordinators, consultants and experts convened to strengthen the coordination and impact of the campaign at European and national level, integrating new tools, good practices and strengthening their visibility. Together they have identified opportunities to strengthen education for human rights and democratic values using of the new manual ‘We CAN!’ and ‘Bookmarks’.

Over recent years, UNITED has coordinated numerous initiatives with the aim of countering populist narratives, including our conference in Torino, Italy in April 2016, as well as the subsequent #LifeSeekers campaign. “We are delighted to see that the activities of UNITED are reflected in the work of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe”said Mr Josa.
