THE MISSED REFUGE: #WorldRefugeeDay
๐Ÿ“…Today is World Refugee Day, which falls each year on 20 June and is dedicated to refugees around the globe. #WorldRefugeeDay was held globally for the first time on 20 June 2001, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, when our list was already almost 20 years old.
Nonetheless it represents a central occurrence in our longstanding campaigning, since it raises global awareness and shines a light on the rights, needs and dreams of refugees, helping to mobilize political will and resources.
โœŠOn this day many organisations and networks like us organise actions and events demanding for a change in migration policies all over the world and for this reason itโ€™s traditionally become an occasion to use our List of Refugee Deaths to remind everybody about the devastating consequences of discriminatory and inhumane policies, conducting every year a week-long campaign under the slogan NO MORE DEATHS, also using this occasion to raise support for the work on the list.

How can you contribute?

โœ๏ธItโ€™s in fact possible to support the List through simple donations. Having 400 people regularly donating the equivalent of a cup of coffee every year would be enough to sustain such an effort, so why not be part of such a mission?
You could do it via Paypal, using the link http://bit.ly/Donate-List, or directly looking for our paypal address listofdeaths@unitedagainstracism.org.
Itโ€™s also possible to do it via bank transfer to Stichting UNITED IBAN: NL28INGB0002343715 (BIC: INGBNL2A)
๐Ÿ’ŒIf youโ€™re already a donor instead, you can help us by spreading the word about the list, its purpose and how to support it, on World Refugee Day and beyond.
Keep following the campaign to discover how itโ€™s possible to use the list and where you can find it. Remember that you can always find all the relevant updated info on the list at the official website of the Fatal Policies of Fortress Europe (also linked in bio).
