June 16, 2016 /// 00:00

Participation fee: freeWhat does community mean in the 21st Century? Policy makers in Scotland, the UK and beyond have increasing expectations of ‘the community’ to participate in the provision of care and local services. However at a point in history where individuals are increasingly global through access to online networks and growing migration, what, who and where are the communities of the present? They welcome members of the public, activists, artists and voluntary or statutory sector professionals who work within communities to join them for some lunch, networking and presentations which provoke discussion around the idea of community. The discussion will inform ongoing work, which seeks to explore the role and demands of community in contemporary life.
