Sign-up to become part of our CPG – Campaign Preparatory Group for World Refugee Day 2025!

Our Campaign Against Racism has just finished but we’re already planning the next one! In preparation for World Refugee Day on June 20, 2025, our coalition is launching a new call to join the Campaign Preparatory Group (CPG), a volunteer-driven initiative to amplify voices against systemic oppression and mobilize communities toward meaningful action.
World Refugee Day serves as a critical platform to highlight the intersection of policy, human rights, and solidarity. Like every year we will focus on exposing the Fatal Policies of Fortress Europe, a framework that has normalized border violence and exclusionary asylum practices. By joining this effort, volunteers will contribute to a global movement that challenges dehumanizing narratives and advocates for restorative justice.

The Role of the Campaign Preparatory Group

The CPG seeks individuals passionate about human rights, digital advocacy, and creative storytelling. Volunteers will collaborate on tasks ranging from social media strategy to data visualization, ensuring the campaign’s reach extends beyond traditional activist circles. Key responsibilities include:

  • Content Development: Crafting narratives that contextualize the UNITED List of Refugee Deaths within broader struggles against racism and xenophobia. This involves producing articles, infographics, and video testimonials that humanize statistical data.
  • Digital Campaigning: Utilizing platforms like WordPress and Canva to design visually compelling materials that simplify complex policy issues for public engagement. Ideally volunteers with HTML skills will optimize templates for email newsletters and advocacy websites.
  • Coalition Building: Facilitating dialogue with grassroots organizations, educational institutions, and artists to create inclusive spaces for collaboration. This includes, for example, organizing virtual or in person events, workshops and coordinating with partners to amplify marginalized voices.
  • Campaign Testing: Piloting messaging strategies in diverse communities to ensure cultural sensitivity and effectiveness. Feedback from these trials will refine the campaign’s core themes before its global launch.

You are best if:

  • You are fluent in English
  • You are familiar with Office, G-Suite, Canva and some graphic design program of your choice
  • You have some HTML/Wordpress skills
  • You have strong affinity with campaigns and a genuine interest in changemaking for human rights and inclusion

Why Join the Campaign Preparatory Group?

Participating in the CPG offers more than an opportunity to combat injustice; it fosters skill development in areas like multimedia production, cross-cultural communication, and project management. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience collaborating with international networks, including access to training sessions led by seasoned activists and legal experts. Additionally, contributions to the campaign can be adapted for professional portfolios, academic research, or local advocacy initiatives.
The CPG’s work directly aligns with broader efforts to dismantle structural racism. By joining our team, you become part of a legacy of resistance—one that honors the memory of those lost to Fortress Europe while building a future rooted in empathy and equity.

We urge activists, students, artists and advocates of all backgrounds to join this vital initiative. Together, we can ensure World Refugee Day 2025 becomes a catalyst for lasting transformation—one where freedom of movement is recognized not as a privilege, but as a fundamental human right.

Fill the form below or write an email to debora@unitedagainstracism.org. Your voice matters—add it to the chorus demanding justice. 60,620 deaths are 60,620 reasons to act.

Together, we can transform Fortress Europe’s walls into bridges of solidarity. #STAYUNITED

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS APRIL 28TH AT 20.00 CEST
