On 5th and 6th of December 2016, more than 100 NGO representatives, among others the Programme Coordinator of UNITED, gathered in Vienna to discuss urgent human rights matters and their impact in the OSCE region.
The last day of the conference continued to focus on how to implement strategies in our NGO activities, including reporting of hate crimes and cooperating with various actors like law enforcement bodies,government institutions and the media.
Day 3 of the conference focused on sharing best practices and practical tools in supporting victims of hate crimes.
The second day of the conference near Berlin focused on identifying the needs of victims of bias-motivated violence and what support organisations can offer them, and better understanding the perspective of victims.
Day 1 of the “MAKE EVERY VOICE HEARD! The Power of Victim Perspectives in Fighting Hate Crime” conference consisted of a number of insightful sessions in which participants were presented with new and interesting viewpoints on hate crimes, hate violence and the rise of fascism in Europe.

Thousands of fascists and other far-right extremists marched through Warsaw on Saturday 11 November, dominating Poland’s Independence Day with one of the largest gatherings in Europe, a rally where banners of white supremacy and red-and-white Polish flags were waved, alongside signs equating Islam with terrorism and signs denouncing same-sex marriage.

Mr. Günter Demnig, an artist from Munich came to Prague again on the 19th of September 2017 in order to place seventeen new Stolpersteine (Stones of the Vanished) at five different addresses where those seventeen Jewish people had been living in Prague before their deportation to concentration camps, in memory of the Porges, Hartmann and Götz families.
