Between 16-24 March, the European Action Week Against Racism will be marked by activities all around Europe to combat racism and prejudice, bringing people with diverse backgrounds and stories face to face.

This year’s Action Week Against Racism will take place between 16-24 March under the slogan Time To Be UNITED. We believe that now is the time to show that no matter the distance between us, we are all united in our efforts to combat discrimination, united in our goal to create cooperative, diverse European societies. In May 2019 the European Parliamentary Elections will take place. Since the last elections 5 years ago, nationalism and exclusionary policies have gained traction in many EU countries. Politicians across the Union have turned to suppressing freedom of speech, fueling fear and intolerance, excluding minorities and migrants, and opposing the EU itself, discarding the values of unity and solidarity that underlied its creation.

UNITED gladly invites you to nominate Delegates for our upcoming UNITED Conference near Tirana, Albania, taking place from the 15 to 20 May 2019. Another eventful year for the UNITED network is almost over as the end of 2018 is approaching. Populist and far-right narratives all over Europe are on the rise and 2018 has shown that the work of the European antiracist movement continues to be crucial. For UNITED, 2018 has been an active year full of activities and campaigns.

Today, on the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) has published a report into how Jewish communities experience antisemitism in 12 EU Member States – the largest ever of its kind worldwide, pointing to rising levels of antisemitism across the continent.

UNITED is preparing for its campaign for the EP elections in 2019. We count on your expertise regarding the (far) right-wing parties of your respective countries, as well as we invite you to share your ideas to shape our campaign.

Over 40.000 Protesters from all around the UK came together last Saturday to show UNITY in combating racism and fascism. The demonstration was initiated by Stand Up To Racism, co-sponsored by Unite Against Fascism and LoveMusic HateRacism, officially backed by several labour Unions and politicians.
